Google Maps - Texas Ghosts of WWII

Don't know if blatantly pimping your own thread is allowed here, but I thought you guys might enjoy this new discussion.

It's a blend of history and Google Map aerial photos of old WWII sites. So far it includes the McLean POW camp, the Hitchcock Blimp Base, and Rattlesnake Bomber Base in Pyote.

I plan to add the Dalhart Air base, Lubbock Glider Base, Lamesa glider training field and Hereford POW camp in the next few weeks.

I have a few photos I took on the ground there, I'll be putting them up when I get to the Hereford camp.

I think what I like about this whole idea is that there are amazing bits of history all around us...if we just know where to look.

yeah, thats a pretty cool concept
