blowing again. I used to miss the dirt storms when I got a little homesick at A&M. I would look back to the north when the wind was blowing and look for the dirt. All of those kids from I-35 and east did not know what a good old dirtstorm was all about.

When the wind gets to 10-15 here in TN they think the world is coming to an end.

They cannot understand the continuous wind we WTexans live thru from Feb to .......

Of course in Angelo we new it was Rodeo time when the wind really picked up!

Yeah, that was the funny thing.. here in Houston (which I'm thankfully leaving soon!) they think that a 20 mph wind is bad.. We got those every day in Abilene. If the wind wasn't blowing your car off the road, it wasn't normal.

worst conditions I have ever driven in
worse than any other dust storm ever,
worse than any fog at night or early morning,
worse than any snowstorm or rainstorm I'd ever seen

Saturday morning we hit Post about 9:00am and from there on to just outside the loop at Lubbock it was 0 to 20 foot visability. One minute you can see a little of the strip on the left side of the lane and then you can't see the end of your hood. I drove way too fast, but we got through before they shut down that piece of highway a little bit later.

then in Lubbock for about 15 minutes at 10:30 it looked like it was snowing in the middle of that mud storm. God I'm glad I don't live up there. Even if up there comes down here every once in a while. . . . . . .

Hey Sheik, it really was snowing! Actually, it was a combination of snow, dust, and smoke from the grassfires. They all merged on radar right near Lubbock. Would say that it was one of the strangest things I've seen, but I think I've become use to the oddities of West Texas weather over the last 10 years.

Just pickin' my spots for max impact!

I suspect that most meteorologists have
learned to listen first, talk last. You
are never quite sure which forecast you
might have messed up, but you know there
are ones in there you don't want to talk
about again!

San Angelo is always good. New ice cream
place (Cold Stone) in town is never a bad
thing.

the snow in Lubbock was blowing with the winds and coming down with the dirt and the outside temp was like 45degrees - every once in a while the sun would peak through. That was weird weather to witness to say the least.
