I spent some time there a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember spending time in a mid size city more destitute than this one. My wife dragged me to the mall and I felt like I was in a time warp. I spotted mullets, bangs, and someone wailing away on a karaoke machine. Driving around the town reminded me of small west texas towns that built some new things in the 50s and 60s, but not much else since. The women were not near as attractive as I have found in other west texas towns (Lubbock in particular, Abilene, Amarillo). Just some thoughts, go ahead and fire away.

You should have gone over to Midland-much better with lots of new restaurants and shopping centers. Lots of new residential growth and a much more active city. Nice downtown area with some nice suburban office areas too. Some very nice older established neighborhoods plus much new around the north and west side. A drive along Loop 250 shows all the growth that has occured over the last 5 years. Give Midland a look the next time you are out that way. Better looking women too-lots of oil money in town and it shows with a lot of the local beauties!!!

SA or A-Town are way better. and greener.
