Check on your district congressman's vote today on the Democrat Bill to tie up troop funding in Iraq with an August 2008 withdrawal mandate ... and handcuffs for Pres Bush and field commanders on conduct of the war.

Well my rep from here in TN voted the correct way- NAY.

Can't say what the guy from Angelo did, but hopefully he did the right thing.

It seems to me the Blue Dogs reverted back to their natural color today ... I doubt Stenholm would have voted differently than his colleagues.

My Congressman, Chet Edwards, A&M former student, voted with the Pelosi team. He had campaigned five months ago for re-election as a "conservative Democrat."

It could have been worse I suppose. Until redistricting last year his District included Ft Hood, home of the 1st Cavalry Division, the 4th Infantry Division and the 3rd Armored Cav Regiment among other units.

I have not heard what Pork Nancy included in the military funding bill to gain Edward's vote ... maybe he gave it away free.

I agree with PB. When the Blue Dog Dems ran in the Reagan years they voted conservative as that is how they ran and the reason they were elected.

I am frustrated with our Rinos out there as well as dems who run as conservatives. At least you know where Pelosi stands...

Shillery has shown she will go whatever direction the winds blow. I just wish the American public would see thru all of this crap....

I would like the option of voting for a candidate of either party because I'm not thrilled with the R's, but voting for a "conservative" D is the same as a vote for Pelosi or Hillary because, for whatever reason, the conservative D's don't have the stones to stand up to the leftists who run the national party.

Though I don't agree with Lieberman on most issues, I do respect that he has the good sense and decency to hold his unpopular position on the war even though his own party tried to run him out of business.

PB I think you couldn't be more wrong. The Democratic party has taken many steps to the right in the last few years and this is because of the blue dogs that have joined their ranks.

I totally, and respectfully, disagree. The D's are as far left as they have been since I have been following politics (about 20 years). Dean is the chairman of the party, Hillary is a top contender for the Presidential nomination as is Obama, Pelosi is Speaker of the House, and Carter and Michael Moore were the highlight of the last Democrat presidential convention. Make no mistake, they are led by extreme leftists.

They tried to run off Lieberman for no other reason than he supports the war.

Chet Edwards is still the yellow dog that he has always been. I hope all the folks in the Fort Hood area realize what a traitor he is to our cause.

There is nothing conservative about him.
