Awesome, can not beat a West Texas thunderstorm formation!! They can be seen for hundred of miles and the way they light up the night sky is tremendous. You can sit in your front yard in Midland and see and watch the lightning display from a storm over Lubbock.

Never forget back in '72 I believe, we were sitting in our front yard on Gulf Street in Midland with my grandparents from Wisconsin. We watched a heck of a thunderstorm going on way north of town. My dad told my grandparetns, "Boy I bet Lubbock is getting it tonight"!!. We learned the next morning that Lubbock was hit that night by a devastating tornado. My grandparents could not get over the fact that we sat in the front yard and watched a storn devastate Lubbock which was "So far away" to them!
