Any recommendations on places to eat at Sonora? Sutton County Steak House and La Mexicana are starting to wear on me...

little road trip

go up 864 to Ft McKavett

There's a joint/bar there that is fun for a beer. Named Woody's I think. Ask for directions, but there's a dirt road (called the Toe Nail Trail) that cuts over to 190 and where it comes out, there is a little cinderblock hambuger joint local beer hall. Used to be called the Outback when a guy from New Zealand owned it, then was called the Ft McKavett Country Club. Don't know if its still even open. On their menu, was the first time I saw and ordered a fried egg and bacon cheeseburger. What a gut bomb, it was dang good. Worth the trip to drink a beer at Woody's and see Ft McKavett even if the Country Club is closed.
