package for my mom so that she can watch the Aggies.

With DirecTv I would've gone online and been done with it within 3 or 4 minutes. This dude had us all signed up for the NBA league pass first, then he switched it to the Full Court package trying to charge me the full $109. Now he's fixed that but I'm still waiting. Going on 18 minutes now. Awesome.

And I fully expect her account to be charged along with my credit card.

I have often wondered why folks use Time Warner Cable. I used Time Warner for years and found them to be completely unsatisfactory. The are particlularly in the service department.

I changed to DirecTV and I have been very pleased. The picture is almost always good, and I can call for service and get it fairly quick. (I do hate the heavy accent of some of the service techs on the phone.) I do occasionally lose the signal during bad weather but it is very seldom and not longer than 30 minutes or so. The menu system on DirecTV is far better than cable. My brothers had to come to my house to watch the Cowboys play because Cable didn't have it.

I do have cable in my house because I use Road Runner. (You can't beat Time Warner for the internet!) Obviously cable must have some advantages that I haven't seen. What are they?

NO, I dont work for DirecTV!

I have one outlet that services multiple TVs. With DirecTV, you have to have a box for each television.

People with set ups that have multiple TVs don't want to pay the additional $10-$15 more per month.

I also got a bundle package with Roadrunner and cable. They also throw in HBO and Cinemax for free.

Can you purchase a "day pass" for each Saturday that the Ags are on ESPN Full Court?

I would think so but I really dunno.

Oh and I would expect a day pass to cost $15 like it does online so it wouldn't be worth it anyway.

sounds like holding for me

Oh and hold time was practically zero btw. I have no idea why their computers are so slow or whatever the hold up was.

Matsui,

I forgot that you have to have a separate setup for every TV. My daughter recently switched from cable and she got some kind of a deal for 4 free setups and installations. I didn't ask her about the details but seemed like it must have been a pretty good deal.

All of these companies are sneaky. They will give you some great deal to start with, ask you for your credit card number and directly bill your credit card every month. After 3 months or so, your bill jumps dramatically and getting them out of your credit card is a real job!
