Many believe that you judge a person by what they do, not what they say. Why would we believe that a person who is dishonest privately, would be any more honest in public?
Perhaps I owe you an apology. You are just excited about supporting your candidate, and that's good.
The real reason I originally responded to this was because I question the integrity of the leadership at UTPA for sponsoring a clearly political event at a public university. This sends a message that a public institution is supporting one particular candidate. In the past Alanzo Cantu has supported the Clintons' visits to the valley, and that is great. The idea that Mrs. Clinton or any other candidate or party is given special treatment by the administration of a public institution is improper.
If Othal Brand, while mayor of McAllen, had used his influence in the Republican Party to use city facilities and made it a city sponsored event, it would have been just as wrong. Democrats would have been outraged, and rightly so.
