So after being with DirecTV for the past 8 years, I am moving to an apartment that doesnt really give me any options for putting up a dish. I have no South facing balcony or windows from my future pad.

Am I setting my self up for a huge disappointment when I switch to TWC? How are their HD packages? Do they have any HD video on demand? Is roadrunner at least a nice perk? Anyone have an valley-style hookups at TWC?

Please tell me that my DLP wont go to waste!

Don't order HBO or Cinemax and when the tech comes out to install it, ask him about hooking you up with HBO and Cinemax for free.

We have TWC in the house in my wife's sewing room but I never watch it. It seems that the menu system is not as nice/user friendly as DirecTv that we have in the living room. You will get the local weather channel on Cable but you only get the national Weather Channel on DirecTV. I don't know about HD because I don't have it yet, but I am planning to move in that direction after Thanksgiving Holidays when they have sales on the TVs.

Roadrunner is a huge bonus. I have Roadrunner Turbo and and it is very fast!

Dude, you are setting yourself up for dissapointment if you switch to TWC. I have TWC and I f'ing hate it. I have about 10 HD channels including the locals. I just don't get it. My brother has TWC in San Antonio and he gets over 50 HD channels. Roadrunner, however, is blazing fast but it doesn't outweigh having only 10 HD channels.

You do realize you can have Direct TV and Roadrunner? It’s just like eating Tex-Mex… you get the best of both worlds…

sui, read above fool he is moving to an apt with no south facing window...which means you need to go take your bad self over there adn kick the guys @$$ on the other side and put the dish on his balcony and run your cables through his living room.
