Anyone affected by this?

Rio Grande Valley residents joined many other people across the United States whose anti-virus software knocked out their computers.

The McAfee anti-virus software sent out an update to their subscribers at 3 a.m. Wednesday.

The update targeted some Windows operating files as a virus instead of a regular file causing their computers not to work properly.

Many residents and businesses were affected.

Action 4 News learned that the Geek Squad at Best Buy is offering FREE updates that will correct the problem.

I made the mistake of subscribing to McAfee recently and had to remove it from the household computers. It is a memory hog and doesn't work very well. I decided to use the Microsoft free version instead and have been pleased. It is available here:
