My wife and I ate lunch at Amberjack's in McAllen today. We won't be eating there very often since she hates seafood but I got to choose because it's my birthday. (yeah...one of many!)

The food and service is OK. It is a pretty big place and there were more people than I expected at lunchtime in a new place. It's a little more expensive than your regular lunch but it is quiet and pleasant.

Happy Birthday rat! As far as prices are concerned, what are we talking? 10-12 dollar lunches?

This place (the oine in McAllen) just opened up this past month so I don't think they have had a buffet. (Maybe you are thinking about the one on the island.

The prices (if I remember right) were anywhere from $9.00 for a hamburger to $25 for some of the most expensive things. I had grilled Mahi Mahi for about $10.
