An attempt to stay cool in the hot and humid weather landed a Brownsville woman behind bars.
Brownsville police arrested 26-year-old Priscilla Falduco on Wednesday evening.
Investigators told Action 4 News that officers got phone calls from Washington Park, just a few blocks away from the Brownsville Police Department.
Officers allegedly arrived at the scene and found Falduco completely naked inside a water fountain.
When police asked her why she did it, she allegedly told them it was too hot.
According to the National Weather Service in Brownsville, temperatures reached a high of 93 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday.
Brownsville Police Sgt. Jimmy Manrrique said officers have a message for residents.
“Were just asking people to stay out of that,” he said about the fountain. “It’s not safe for humans to be in. It’s very high-chlorinated water and we don’t want people to get hurt.”
Falduco has 13 prior arrests, which includes charges for prostitution.
The Brownsville woman was originally charged with indecent exposure but the charge was reduced to disorderly conduct due to two outstanding warrants for assault.
