KURV in Edinburg has been the station that broadcast aggie football games since I was in high school (a very long time ago). Last year BMP Radio, the parent company, decided to stop those broadcasts and they put the aggie broadcast on KBUC FM in Raymondville. No problem you just have to tune to a different station.

Well, there is a problem. The reception sucks. The Texas games are still on 1290 and are crystal clear. At least here at my location the reception is bad enough that I need to listen to the game on the internet. I don't know if this is a problem for just me or for others as well but I have decided to stop listening to KURV. I have XM radio in the care and I can here most of the same shows there.

Yeah! I have a little AM/FM radio that I put in my pack when I go shoot at birds. I couldn't get anything but static. I think the radio station is only 17,000 or 36,000 watts. I was in South Alamo and had to resort to running to my vehicle every so often to check the score..I never had that problem on AM.

What is the new station?

i was leaving the valley at 630 on saturday and was looking for the game in mcallen. according to the website it should have been on 710 talk radio but the kimkammando show was on instead, and i am sure she would get better ratings.

I picked it up crystal clear at my house in mcallen. It doesn't come in as clear in the car. And yes, colonel ray aka bruce collins has made some strange decisions the past couple of years. I can't believe his talkshow is still on the air. Can't stand him.

KURV, is turrible,,,, It should be decent as they have no competition in the Valley, but it has been downhill for a long, long time. I used to love the old KSOX, the farm reports and all.

I had no idea that colonel ray was bruce collins. I sincerely dislike that part of their programing. I like most of the rest and I used to keep my radio on 710 anytime I was in the car. But as I told Bruce Collins, I have XM radio in the car now so as long as they keep the policy of putting the aggie games on an FM station that I can't hear, I will no longer listen to the station!

Damn crabby old aggie anyway! :-)

OH! I think I am going to find out who the advertisers are and complain to them...I think Williamson Construction is one of them.

Yea he first came on right before Dolly hit in 2008. I heard his first interview and immediately hated him. He wouldn't shutup during the interview. It was ridiculous.


His show is horr-i-bad and now he yanked ESPN Radio off the air and replaced them with Fox Sports. The only thing that's decent on that network is Dan Patrick. Everything else is much worse than ESPN.
