Is this the year that Rube finally gets slammed. We in the northern end of the District need some help from you guys to the south. This guy won't even show up in any county north of Live Oak Co. He votes in lock step with Pelosi on each of her bills. Is he really the best choice for S. Texas? What does he do for the constituents down there, he sure does nothing for the northern counties. What is the pulse of this race down there?

He is an Hinojosa from Hidalgo county, he will win big in the Valley and parts just to the north. All in all he is not a bad guy, just very dependent on the demo backing. The Hino's don't have as much power as they once did, back in the day they were big time closet republicans.

They are very liberal Democratic these days. You are right about the huge voting bloc that Ruben can count on in the valley. Hidalgo county will vote 10:1 or more for the Dims.

He needs a challenger from down in El Valle. Hidalgo County is still run ENTIRELY by political machines, so long as the people that run the machines don't decide to replace someone any independent challenger is toast.

On the other hand if someone from up North runs against him the South will vote en bloc for Ruben. Why? "Because only people from the Valley care about the Valley".
