This type of data is interesting but just like so much information that comes out these days, you need to be sure you know what those numbers mean!

For example, you wonder if the dropout data collected in cities like Chicago (rated pretty high) was collected like it was down here. Also, It is interesting that they listed the dropout rate in the Brownsville area and McAllen area as being in excess of 30%. The official state figures are far less than that....probably less than 10%. Where did those numbers come from?

Using just common sense, the numbers for some of those cities just don't make sense. (...and as Judge Judy says "if it doesn't make sense then its probably not true." One example is the Austin schools. One of their big high schools(LBJ) had to be shut down because it was so bad.
