Wow! I was beginning to think that the valley had entered the Sahara phase. We got 1.6 inches of rain today and it has been many moons since the last one. I was thinking I was going to have to irrigate my yard in December!

We got 1.3 on Saturday.

It was about 6 months too late for my yard but I'll take it!

I have a cool wireless weather station that I got for my birthday and it says that since cinco de Mayo (my birthday) we have had 11 inches of rain. 8 of that came here on June 22-23. I guess that rain must have not been valley wide but it flooded my yard here in south Edinburg. Since that time we have had almost no rain and I have had to flood irrigate my yard twice and still have had some damage from the heat and drought.

I can imagine that my yard would be in serious shape if I couldn't irrigate. You just can't sprinkle 1.5 acres.

Yep that June 22nd rain was ridiculous.

We get 18 inches of rain annually or whatever but it's actually worse since 10 of those inches usually come in 2 downpours so most of it just runs off.
