Heading to a convention this weekend on SPI and looking for some good restaurants to take the old lady. Looking for fresh seafood, authentic mexican, good tex-mex, or just damn good food. No tourists traps, please. TIA

Marchan's in Port Isabel and Gabriella's on the Island. Gabriella's is Italian but is great food and has a killer beer selection.

Definitely Gabriellas, as mentioned Joe's in PI is really good too. Manuels in PI also. My favorite reliable place is Blackbeards. Try the "locals ribeye sandwich or locals club". Neither are on the menu.

If you want Manuel's on PI, phone in breakfast tacos to go and pick up because the wait and the service can be brutal.
