I think we should do away with corps block on both home and away games. The university is about more than the corps. The vast majority of us were not in the corps while at a&m.

I guess what bugs me is the fact they show so much of corps block on tv games. There are other fans in the stands. Why not show more of them?

I don't think they had much to show today on tv, but I do agree with you strawberry, there is more to a&m than the corps.

It gets old but u can understand why they show it. It's unique.

But would prefer a section of nothing but 9's and 10's for the cameras. If I win the a huge lotto I'm buying a whole section to make this happen.

I graduated from A&M as a non-reg although when I started everyone was in the corps. I watch all the games and occasionally go to a game. I don't notice an overwhelming amount of notice of the corps. Seems like they pan the whole student side most of the time. You do notice the block more because it is a solid color.

I'm assuming that OP is a fan but not a Former Student. I think that for many Former Students the understanding of what the Corps does for maintaining traditions, etc, is clearer.

Professional broadcasters (in general) have a better understanding of what is "appealing" to their viewers. If, in fact, they are showing a disproportionate amount of Corps members, they must think that their viewers want to see that...which in turn makes our University more attractive to those viewers.

I was a non-reg, but it is not debateable that the Corps has historically carried a hugely disproportionate part of the load with regards to bonfire, conservation of tradition and spirit, and student leadership. As such, IMO they deserve the increased attention.......it's ONE of the things that makes unique.

We're a large and divese group. We won't all have the same opinion on every issue. This is MY opinion and won't be shared by all.

^^^ Just my p.o.v. but you're a little high on the corps. People that went to A&M that weren't in the corps have a lot of different views from the outside looking in at the corps. That being said, there is a lot of different takes as you mentioned. I think maybe though more recent graduates might not quite understand why the corps gets so much attention. Its a great and honorable thing to do, but it not the ONLY thing to do at A&M.
