Excellent. I was getting tired of driving over to Sharyland. The grandkids love it ever since I took them while we were in College Station. Probably won't be taking them to Hooters though! :-) (Althought the oldest -7th grade- thinks he is pretty hot stuff!)

By the way - I got the Hooters info from a couple of tweets from a Monitor writer along with a tweet from a guy I know that works for the Mayor.

We were at Freebirds last weekend and somebody that works behind the counter mentioned they were opening up a McAllen location by 10th and Trenton.

Why is there no chipotle in south Texas? I've tried freebirds twice and it was subpar compared to chipotle.

I heard a rumor that they were going to put a RUTH'S CHRIS Steakhouse on the top floor of the tower where the tower club used to be. But nothing more. Any of you guys "in the know" heard about this?

I ate a Landsky and Brats not long ago and it wasn't very good. However, my trip to the Longhorn Steakhouse on N. 10th was good.

I guess that we'll have to wait for a little more upscale place.
