I'm wondering who is pulling his strings. He's a Starr County boy but his district takes up a bunch of the brush country. Before the season started last year a lot of State Reps. (Republican and Demorcrat) said they would do this with the stinging memory of our last second loss to the t-sips.

Fast forward to now with a great first season in the SEC and a Cotton Bowl win and everyone has forgotten about that urge to play them again.

No matter what you think as far as us playing the t-sips again everyone is dogging this State Rep. because he is from the Valley, Hispanic, and a Demorcrat. I've read a lot of nasty stuff online about him that is borderline racist.

This is what makes me upset.

Being from the Valley opens Guillen up to attack, right or wrong, as does being a Democrat and to some, being an Ag. Personally, I think it is a waste of time to introduce something like this. Don't politicians have enough REAL problems to be dealing with outside of who plays whom in college football? If I were an Ag or a constituent, I would tell Guillen to stand down and spend his time on real issues relevant to the state and his district.

again, this is not an issue that needs to be legislated. he wants to legislate? propose a bill for no raises for state reps ever....or perhaps propose legislation to start mandatory drug testing to receive state benefits for food stamps or unemployment....or propose legislation to stop linking school funding to test results....or propose pay increases for teachers that educate our future....many other issues he can focus on besides us playing the sips.
