Retiring and moving to College Station. Whoop!

I have a garage/workshop full of tools and power equipment I have accumulated over the years; all in good condition.

We are downsizing so don't want to take it with me. Any opinions on what will yield the highest return; auction or moving sale?

Auction requires paying the auction service! Tools are always first to go if they are good. Price them accordingly. I priced mine and some fishing gear to low and they were all gone by 7:05. Advertise Tools. Call it moving sale or estate downsizing--folks come to those better than plain old garage sale. What you do not sale, try to pawn. Good luck!!

I am guessing it would have to be a big lot for an auctioneer to be.involved. what all do you have?

Owlagdad must watch too much storage wars. A good auctioneer will pay for himself but it depends on how much and what all you have to sale for a good one to take the deal. If the deals right, you'll net a lot more money in the end.

Auction. Every time. Quick easy. Clean. Quickest way to covert assets to cash. Several good auction companies in east Texas. Call united country. Talk to several auction companies and see what services they would offer. Auctions are a service industry, all fees are negotiable. If you have good stuff, they might not carve as much as you think.
