Wife and I recently relocated to Tyler and our lease in our townhouse is about to be done in late January. We have been looking for a while and want to buy a home. Any information is appreciated.

How old are your kids? School district desired, or Private schools? Pockets of good neighborhoods all over town, and costs are sometimes effected by schools.

We don't have any kids and the wife is really pushing for private education when the kids do come (tk gorman).

chapel hill, whitehouse, bullard.

chapel hill is best bang for the buck, bullard may be the fastest growing area.

dont do anything west of tyler!

flint whitehouse bullard, bullard best market, flint lots of building and lots of turnover, whitehouse solid

But seriously, why the suggestions for Bullard, Flint, and Chapel Hill? I would prefer to stay in Tyler, not the burbs of Tyler, but maybe that's just me.

why the burbs? best bang for your buck, good neighborhood, good schools. anything in tyler, especially inside the loop, is completely outrageous on the price.

also, i would add the noonday area to the list. lots of good people out there.

I grew up near josepi's house, great neighborhood, very pretty area and I would think a pretty good value if you like older homes with good character.

Come on up to Lindale, especially Eagles Peak. Some of the lots are 3/4 acre and is a buyers market!

Lindale. When we moved here everyone told us they had the best schools, and it was the
best area to live in. 20 minutes to Tyler, not many poors lol. We also thought about private school (the wife is a teacher at the TISD gifted and talented T.A.R.G.E.T school.) In the end we are very pleased with the education at Lindale ISD. When our oldest graduated they were one of the few schools in Texas where every campus received the state's highest ranking. K-12.

Baker Plantation.

Hollytree. Home values steady. Great neighborhood. Close to the ever growing businesses on Old Jacksonville. Feeds into Jack Elementary..very desirable school. Best side of town.

I recently took a youth pastor position in Lindale, was born and raised in Tyler and went to Whitehouse.

Have to say I actually enjoy Lindale a lot though, great people for the most part and really good housing market.

I used to live at that 1st house past Baker on the left from '04 a '09. Sadly I realized I was on the wrong side of the fence too late. Live in west Frisco now. Great neighborhood. There's another good ag on here that lives there.

I know an Aggie dentist that just moved into Baker in the last year or so (lived in Bullard prior).

If you are going to private school not as big a deal. If public look into Whitehouse ISD. Baker Plantation is a good option.

When are you moving? We live on a wonderful street in the Azalea district. Very charming home! We will be selling soon as I am finishing residency and moving to McKinney.

I grew up in Tall Timbers just outside the city limits on the south side, but town has all but moved to it. Right outside outer loop and between Broadway and Old Jacksonville.

Homes range from ~200k-350k

Heritage south is nice and established and quiet
