Man i still remember when we sucked in Tyler Lee football. My Sr year there i think we made it to the first round and got our arses handed to us. How times have changed..... is lufkin still in the same district?

Does anyone know how all of the teams are going to look like this year? Will TLee be back, Longview be good, etc.etc..?

Trick, are you still going to have your LP tickets this year? I am planning to get some.

TLee will be pretty good, but not last years material... Lview will run deep in the playoffs as always.

I am - probably going to get all 7 again this year. I don't need that many, but they are so cheap that it doesn't hurt. I am hoping to improve location if I can.

Im goin to every game this year. Lookin forward to 2 '07 D-1 recruits in the receiving corps with Ralph Thomas and Dez Bryant. LP Football is going to take on the speed game in the offense this year with two burners in the backfield Clifton Kibble and Marcus Rains. Still gonna be the same smashmouth defense that everyone here has grown to love. Im curious to see how new QB Jeremy Claybon does and how far we will go into the playoffs.

We are going to be fast on both sides of the ball. I can't wait to see Bryant. He was huge in the playoffs last year.

Cant wait to see this speedy team play on the new turf at Abe Martin. Only things I think we have to watch for is @ Port Arthur Memorial and @ Klein Collins. The Woodlands is also looming but that game will be at Abe and I think that the pack should be able to handle that. How about you bdenby?

Maybe I am overly optimisitc, but none of those games really worry me.

I have been talking to several people who watch the team very closely, I am sure you guys would know all of them, and they say Claybon is as advertised. Plus they say the defense looks great. No real surprise there, but we lost three kids to D-1 schools from that side of the ball.

My main concern is losing that Lee game from the schedule. I think having them as a wakeup call in non-district was really positive. Just to let the team know that there are teams out there that can play with them all the way down the line. Remember, most of the guys playing now didn't play in the old district schedule. Just my .02.


About two weeks before the season starts, I am getting Cathcart on this thread. He'll break down every game and every position like Mel Kiper.

None of them worry me either really just some to look out for that could be good games. Im lookin forward to a 10-0 regular season and hopefully a showdown with Southlake in the semis.

The airplane room finally got redone. Me and the missus got drunk one night and ripped the wallpaper off. It sat on the floor in a pile for about 5 months before we actually got around to finishing the remodel. I should have saved the colorful fan for you - I know you were a fan.

Tailgating sounds good. Just started a new job (in Egypt right now) so I'm not quite sure what free time I'll have though. I'll make time for football though.

The tailgate is at Bill Slaughter's office across 287 from the high school. We all have valet parking so you can hang out until just before the game starts. We are moving back to Lufkin next weekend. No worries about the offense as Lufkin hung 51 on Aldine Eisenhower in the opener tonight. Claybon threw several pretty passes but also had 2 picks. The defense was insane and was in the backfield every play.

I didn't make the game, but I heard the same. Defense sounds incredible. Offense sounds better than what Outlaw thought it would be, but still sounds like it has much room to improve.

Hewitt got his first of many Int's this year.

Jury is still out on the offense (sorry guys, Outlaw has said this all week). Ike was just terrible in every aspect of the game. Unfortunately PAM won't be a good measuring stick as well. Which actually isn't a bad thing. Jeremy is gaining confidence and another good showing at PAM will help. Do expect to see a lot more of the sophmore RB and EJ in the backfield.

The defense however is unbelievable. Glad to see them attacking and aggressive for the first time in a LONG time.

Kicker, best in the State and Hewitt returning kicks gives a huge advantage.

There's no way I'll be able to make it... I've got to keep working. Today will be my 12th 10+ hour day and I've got about 10 more at least ahead of me. This all started just one day after getting back from 14 days in Egypt. Ouch.
