Went to Apple Springs Friday night to watch first 6-man football game in Apple Springs history. They played Brazos and won 40 to 18. Great fun to watch wide open play. 15 yards for first down, 80 yard field and everyone eligible. It cost $4 for me and both boys to enter and everyone had a great time. I think I will attend more games.

Where is Apple Springs? I saw they play Leverett's Chapel, who finally got a sixman team and they're close to me in Kilgore.

I was wondering the same thing. An old friend of mine is the coach at Leverett's Chapel; the way he describes it, it sounds like a lot of fun to watch. I wish I still lived down there so I could watch a few games.

About 20 miles west of Lufkin on Hwy 94.

I remember Apple Springs used to have some pretty good 1A teams a while back.
