I toured the west side of the lake south of the 190 bridge this morning and was amazed with the high number of trees down and roof damage. It was reported that 117 mph winds were measured at the dam which resulted in severe erosion to it and thus they've released about 5 or 6 feet of water level. The counterclockwise wind coming around the back side of Rita looks to have had a clear shot down the length of the long, narrow lake. Lot's of folks are currently suffering with no electricity or water and many will go without for over a month as there is too much damaged line. Did see caravans of utility trucks from other areas arriving to assist the overwhelmed electrical personnel which is a good thing. 59N and 59S to and from Houston / Cleveland was fine with little traffic in either direction.

Please keep all the fine folks from the East Texas piney woods in your prayers.
