Have a buddy looking for best neighborhood in Beaumont. Maybe 350k-500k range for a home. He prefers new construction. Someone mentioned Westwood area was nice? Schools important.
H-F is a good district. Its out in the country if you like that. Flooding is an issue out there, but if you like country living, H-F is a decent place and not a bad ride into beaumont if thats where your work will be. I`m just partial to mid county. (Nederland, Pt. Neches)
Diamond D looks very nice, we have driven out there looking at the homes. You would be in Hardin Jefferson school district which is good, but close enough to Beaumont for stores, etc. They seem to be planning a nice subdivision out there.
Your post leads me to tell you Lumberton. A lot of new development there with a decent school district. I say decent because it's better than Bmt but still nothing the best.
--Lumberton is a dry town. In case your buddy likes to drink a few beers in the evening all his beer shopping will have to be done in Beaumont, Silsbee or Kountze depending on which side of town he is on. And that includes restaurants. They don't have as many chain restaurants in Lumberton because they cannot sell alcohol. It comes up for vote every couple of years but barely misses the majority vote to get approved
still partial to Nederland/Pt. Neches. Very good 4A schools, great friday nite football, nice comminities to raise kids, 10-15 min from bmt, reasonable taxes, major crime is virtually non existent, etc.
