The Memorial Colliseum is finally coming down! It's about time.

The city is inviting residents to go down to the demolition site and grab a brick and own a piece of Corpus Christi history.

Man, stop being so dramatic.

went to many concerts there as a teenager in the 80's.

I saw the architectural drawings on it once. A goodly portion of it is underground; that building was built to last a thousand years.

I suppose they are just going to leave all the piers in place, the rest of the foundation is pretty awesome as well. I don[t see how the contract for demo will cover the costs of actually taking the whole thing down.

I'm not going to believe it until I drive by and see it is no longer there.

Every time I saw that dilapidated ruin, it made me proud to be a veteran...

They should have just gutted it and used the interior as a picnic area.

The 1914 courthouse and the Coliseum in Rome are in a lot worse condition. They go down next, by gawd. That dump in Rome hasn't been fit to use for close to two thousand years.

I did not get a brick during my trip to Corpitos this weekend...

This morning's caller-times/squalor-times reported the city is now going to pay for the demo with general funds rather than obligation bonds. Any thoughts on why? I thought they were broke
