We have been going to Port A for years but have never really ventured out to the resturants around for seafood since we would always eat what we caught. Any recommendations would be appreciated

I highly recommend Virginia's on the Bay. At there a week ago and it was fantastic!

We usually also frequent Castaways, and Pelican's Landing. There is also a place just as you come off the ferry on the left.....blue building....Fins is the name of it I think....

Fins has family style platter dishes and cooold beer. We will take two or three families and each order a different platter and there is more than enough to go around.

Is Charlotte Plummer's still operatioal?

Plummers is still there and taking tourists' money.

Just got back from Port A last night....had four GREAT meals while we were there...

Pelican's Landing - Grilled Shrimp - Excellent
Virginia's on the Bay - Fried Shrimp - Excellent
Fins - Grilled Shrimp and Mahi Mahi - Excellent
Castaways - Fried Shrimp and Crab Cakes - Excellent

Last couple of times I went to Charlotte Plummer's it had gone way downhill.

I'll add The Boiling Pot in Rockport (may be in Fulton, actually). I guess it's still there.

I second both Snoopys and The Boiling Pot.

Charlotte Plumbers (and I know locals who go there) and Boiling Pot are both in Fulton.

Capt Billy's Relative's (name has changed some) Place has good fried shrimp. I think it's in Fulton now, but it used to be in Estes.

Kings Inn trumps all, but about a 2 hour drive. Worth it though.

Crab-N Aransas Pass is my favorite....we take fish caught that day, and show up at 5. I like flounder or trout best.....pick 3 ways to have it cooked.....never been disappointed. Cajun, broiled, fried are the best....

Bloody mary's are for real....not watered down

Snoopy's. Haven't been in 9 years but I'd go again in a heartbeat.

Reading this thread is killing me. I want some good area seafood so bad................and I'm stuck in Dallas! I guess I'll just have to schedule a weekend trip to the coast and "pig out" soon.

Crab N in Estes

Crab Inn, its on the road between Rockport and Aransas Pass is great. If you catch some fish you can take them there and they'll cook em up any way you want. They have food like chicken in addition to sea food if you go with someone who isn't from the coast (haha) I highly reccomend this location. It's not on the high way its on the back road between Aransas Pass and Rockport, It's right in front of an apartment complex, on the bay side of the road.

FYI boiling pot is a tourist spot, no locals go there, all high school kids work there. To us its over priced but you can't deny how good it is. If you haven't been there it's a must go (In Rockport) but there is plenty of other great places to eat in the area, not limited to just Rockport. As for Port Aransas, I'm a trout street fan, love that place. It's hard to go wrong for bad sea food down there though, as long as it doesnt look to sketch go for it.
