Anybody got a Rec for a decent hotel close to Port A (within 20 minutes) that is in the $100 range on a weekend? Want to surf/jetty fish and take the kids to beach during the day. Just a short weekend run. Seems that most of the hotels in port a are $250 and up on summer weekends, and that is for stuff like holiday inn etc. Don't mind a short drive If it will save $150 a night. Thanks in advance.

We stay at SeaBreeze Suites. It is a condo with units they rent out. Right on Beach St., in Port A. Rates during the Summer are $119 weekday, and $139 weekend. Walking distance to great eats, and a cool little watering hole two doors down called The Gaff.

Seabreeze has a pool with a good shallow end for the kids and a hot tub.

Close to your range and right in town. The units are a little older, but it's a steal for the price. Units have galley kitchens too.

We stay at the Hampton alot on SPID right before the turn to go to Port A.

You have new jetties right there too

The Hampton is about $170.00 per night on summer weekends. Did not know of the new jetties. Are they pretty close to the Hampton?

The Fish Pass jetties are 2.5 miles away from the Hampton

Yep, $170 is more than I wanted to pay, but it beats the hell out of $300, which is what many of the condos charge. Of course, there are certainly advantages to the condos on the beach.

Only a couple of weekends left of summer, & hopefully we can make a weekend of it at one of the two spots mentioned. If not, maybe next summer when prices have increased by 30%.

I know for a fact Rockport has a vast array of places to stay, high end places such as Lighthouse Inn or Bahia Bay to medium such as Hampton inn and best western to some cheap no named places and day's inn. Its about a twenty minute drive to the ferry during any time but summer, plan accordingly

Stayed at the Lighthouse Inn last night. Really nice place.

I think there is a Best Western right before you get to redfish bay in Aransas Pass. About a 5-minute drive from the ferry.
