We're taking our kids (5 and 7) on a day trip to Galveston tomorrow. What beach should we go to?

Go to the state park. They have the amenities to make it a good day, the entry fee keeps out the rif-raf, and they could use the revenue.

I'd say Seawall because it's free, they clean the beaches of seaweed (sometimes), and there are lifeguards. Bring meat tenderizer... husband got nailed several times by man-o-wars a couple nights ago. Otherwise the water and beaches have been beautiful lately. If you want showers and restrooms then I'd second the suggestion of going to the state park.
