Howdy Corpus Christi Ags,

Wife and I are going to spend a few days in Corpus for our anniversary and I was looking for some suggestions on places to go and things to do.

Looking at staying at George Blucher House.

Thanks for the help!

Really depends what kind of stuff you like to do, there's the aquarium or uss lexington... that's kind of cool if you're in to that. I'd go eat at Snoopy's or Doc's under the causeway and check out some of the beaches like around Bob Hall.
If you're into sports maybe catch a CC hooks baseball game (minor league double a).
Of course the 2-story Whataburger downtown is a classic

We are planning on going to USS Lexington and aquarium. The weekend that we are looking at going the hooks wont be in. I have been waiting to go see them for years.

We will prob spend most of the time at the beach. So any recommendations on what areas are the best? Are there restaurants along the beach?

I dont think there are restaurants actually on the beach that I know of.
I'd make the drive to Padre Island/Port A rather than going to north beach, etc. You can eat at Snoopy's or Docs as mentioned before those are restaurants right on the water under JFK causeway going out to the island.

I second the trip to Port Aransas. There are also a lot of good places to eat there.

Where should we stop and head to the beach. I am assuming somewhere along 361?

If you want some beach area a little more populated I'd suggest JP luby, you need a parking pass though. That is pretty much the first exit off of 361... or Bob Hall pier which you don't turn on 361 and continue on 22.

If you want something a little less populated instead of JP luby, you continue down 361 to access road 2 past mustang island. You can also go all the way down to Port A and take a ferry to St. Jo's island which is always pretty cool w/ good fishing.

Snoopy's is good if you like fried everything but try the Venetian Hotplate in Port A

ha stay away from north beach..definitely cross to the island. if you want to get really away, just drive south from bob hall towards kleburg. pretty secluded. and +1 on all the eateries.

We are coming from Houston. Are there any must stop places along the way to Corpus?

There are no musts. BBQ joints every now and then but nothing memorable until you get closer to the water and "out of the way".

Consider leaving Hwy 59 and driving through Rockport.
