My wife and I will be moving to Beaumont in August with a new born. We will be there for only 1 year, so we plan on renting. I will be working in downtown. We know nearly nothing about Beaumont, so we are looking for advice on good or bad areas to live and if there is any traffic that we should be aware of. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Safe bet is the West End. 10 minute drive from downtown.

look in mid county (nederland/pt. neches). 10- 15 min to downtown beaumont. Let me know if I can help.

and nederland/port neches is not 10-15 min from downtown

Thanks for the help. I will do some looking into the West end. Yeah, looking at google maps it seemed like Nederland was farther than that.

I live in Nederland and its about 10 minutes to MLK & Lamar and its another 5-10 to downtown depending on the lights.
