A bunch of friends and I are going to the beach wednesday and/or thursday, camping overnight, and fishing in the morning. i have read on some of the fishing forums that there is a ton of debris on surfside beach and that the water is pretty murky. Would this clear up by wednesday or thursday? If not, where should we go?

Can't speak for Surfside, but there were a lot of trees and big chunks of driftwood washed up by my place on the west end this weekend. If you go offshore, be really careful that you don't run into any floating logs as they are definitely out there.

We ended up camping about 7 miles west of the toll bridge. Some of the beach debris had been put into huge piles so the area in between was fairly clear. The mosquitoes were the worst I have ever seen in my life. We covered ourselves in mosquito spray, had a very smoky fire going, and it was still unbearable so we only stayed one night instead of the 2 we had planned. Fishing was meh, I was aiming for whiting and drum and only caught hardheads.
