We're heading down to Galveston next week for family vacation, and am looking for any recommendations on the local courses. We're staying in Pointe West, so we'll have a longer drive than average any way...

Moody Gardens Golf Course is a must.

The only other course on the island is the country club. Don't know if they allow the general public. Bayou Golf Course in Texas City has very reasonable rates and not as demanding as Moody Gardens.

At Moody Gardens the twilight rate starts at 1 and it's a good bit cheaper to play during twilight. Be sure to call in for a tee time, next week will likely be pretty busy.

Bring plenty of balls, there's water on just about every hole.

Also don't wreck the cart, they're only a few weeks old
