I'm headed down to Galveston for a couple days with the wife.

What all is there available to do there?

It's all about Karate here now. Nobody does much else since they drained the ocean.

Moody Gardens (aquarium rain forest, 3-D IMAX, etc.)
Pleasure Pier
Stroll around The Strand area
Free ferry ride to Port Bolivar (park and walk onto ferry to avoid the wait)

Expensive restaurants:
Rudy & Paco's (Highly recommend)
Shern's (at Moody Gardens)

Inexpensive non-chain restaurants:
Shrimp 'n Stuff (fried seafood, poboys, etc.)
The Spot (burgers, etc.)
Original Mexican
Sonny's (place looks questionable but is a favorite local restaurant/bar and family friendly)
DiBella's (Italian)
Mosquito Cafe (bistro-type food - highly recommended)

Drink

Texas A&M and Maritime Academy ship, etc.

We've got a Boy Scout trip coming up in July. Are there any places to camp other than Galveston Island SP or the sleepover program at Sea Wolf Park?

I had a friend live on Pelican Island while the dorms were shutdown and he was having wimminz issues.
