Crusaders - I have a friend currently vacationing in Port A. She said that the seaweed was pretty bad but she was hoping that they would "sweep" it in the morning. She said it was still nice though.

I wonder how often they "sweep" the beaches?

Enjoy the beach....don't get in a big hurry to do anything....just get some rest and relaxation.

LOL the tequila part made me laugh. I have a recipe for a Dreamsicle Margarita that I have all of the ingredients for that I am planning on bringing.

The only thing we have on the schedule is an 8 AM tee time at the golf course there. My sons are playing - I'll go along for the ride.

I can't wait - need to get away from College Station for a break badly.

You should share this margarita recipe.

Okay here you go:
2 oz Grand Marnier
2 oz orange juice
1 1/2 oz (1800 reserve Coconut) tequila
1 oz lime juice
1 oz coconut water
1 oz light coconut milk
1 oz simple syrup
Unsweetened shredded/toasted coconut for glass rims
Orange and lime slices for serving

Prepare rims of glasses

Mix all liquid ingredients and shake for 30 seconds. Pour over ice and enjoy!!

Due to my occupation I must add - please don't drink and drive.


Also my friend just returned from Port A. She said they did sweep the beach while she was there and they didn't see any jellyfish.

Been an odd year for seaweed. It is usually gone by now, but I keep seeing reports of heavy weed coming in.

Y'all ever go to the Beach Lodge? Our condo is walking distance. Heard rumors that the food drinks are good.

I haven't been to Port A since I was in grade school = a long, long time. I wish we were staying longer than 3 nights so I could try all of the suggestions.

Honestly don't eveb know where Beach Lodge would be.

We usually stay at the Myan Princess which is pretty much the last condo down the strip in Port A. It actually takes about 10 to 15 minutes to get to "town" from it by car. Feel free to bring me a drink though! ;-)

Lots of sea weed this afternoon. No jelly fish though, and those muscle thingys are everywhere!!

We will be there Sunday afternoon - feel free to rake the beach for us.

Same her....we will be arriving sometime after luncj on Sunday. Hopefully they clean it first thing Monday morning.

Hit the beach this afternoon. Pretty heavy seaweed on the sand but once you get through it the water is actually okay.

Hit up the beach for a while yesterday afternoon and then had a great dinner at Virginia's.

Getting ready to hit the beach for the day and then doing dolphin watch tour this evening.

Seaweed still here. And wife was hit by a stingray yesterday afternoon. Spent couple f hours in Corpus ER with foot in hot water and X-rays. Remember, shuffle shuffle. Not stomp stomp.

We left today around noon and they were sweeping the beach as we left.

Hope your wife is okay - never even thought about stingrays.

Guess we got lucky.

My sister got a sting ray barb thru the arch of her foot last time we were down. Hope your wife is feeling better!!!

She got hit in that same place, arch of her foot. She said it was the most intense pain she's ever experienced. Don't know if I'll get her in the water again! Or me either!
