Any suggestions for a nice apartment for a professional couple in the Lake Jackson area? Not familiar with the area. Places to avoid? Thanks in advance!

Right now, honestly - good luck finding an apartment in Lake Jackson. With the volume of work going on at Dow, BASF, Quintana/LNG - housing the entire area is at a premium.

I'd look at anything over near the hospital first, then some of the newer apartments down 332 towards Freeport after that. Unfortunately most apartments in the area allow government assistance on rent (even the newer and nicer ones it seems), so you'll always have some questionable renters.

You might try looking at long term rentals of houses in Surfside. Only about 9 miles to Lake Jackson.

Try pearland and drive down to work each day. You will be much happier.

rent house would be better and just as cheap.

I second Pearland. The housing market is tough in LJ and there's not a lot of nice places.
