Probably not but don't worry, sooner or later a good hurricane will move through there and will let those idiots understand why they shouldn't build directly on the beach.

A lot of those houses down there are only wind rated at 115 mph. That is coming straight from a buddy of mine who works for CenTex, who built a lot of those homes. These are the same 1200 square foot houses that are going for $300,000-$500,000.

Stupid crap like that is the reason insurance coverage along the coast is so high and why it will not be available in the future.

No kiddin I can't believe all those folks built those houses on right there on the beach. Then they try and cut off the beach access and act like it's their own private beach. I drove down there a couple of weeks ago and parked my truck infront of where I was fishin the surf and got all these looks from everyone on their golf carts. I really can't believe someone built that huge hotel there on the west end. But like you said a hurricane will fix things nice and quick.

I went to Missippi in June and the first 6-7 blocks in from the beach are swept clean. It will take many years to recover. Those building on the coast should take a look. New Orleans was nothing compared to Gulfport/Biloxi/Ocean Springs.
