It's on the same path as Rita, 10 months later. At given speed, power, and parallel path to Rita, I give it 11 days before it hits Victoria from the south.

Any other predictions?

It if survives past Cuba.

Thank God for a slow hurricane season thus far. I pray it stays that way.

The news said that it will fizzle out before landfall. People in Florida are preparing, but the ocean temps. aren't high enough right now to produce the big storms.

I was speaking with Dr. William Gray (hurricane expert in Houston) after he spoke with some folks at a business convention.

This was back in May and he said that all signs were pointing towards a much slower hurricane season than last year. This contradicted what I'd heard from numerous other mainstream outlets, but so far, he appears to be right.

Let's hope it stays this way.

We also spoke about "Global Warming" for a while, but that's another story...
