Someone is asking and I haven't been down there in 5 years. Any motels or best to come back to around 61st st. on the island?

check with the outdoor board, lots of people from that board go down there all the time

Curious...do you have a san luis pass to redeem at the hotel. heard about someone selling a pass for a 2 night stay and wondering if you have knowledge on how it works???

There may be some small motels around Surfside. Not sure what caliber you're looking for, but I seem to recall some on the way to Freeport. There may also be something just past San Luis Pass, on the curve. If you're looking for something nicer, stay in Galveston.

Avoid Peregrine Townhomes on Bluewater Highway between Surfside and San Luis Pass. They are deteriorating rapidly (time shares, but they rent) The little mom and pop motels left in Surfside (one burned down last year) are equally skanky. Better off staying in nice motels in Freport/Clute and driving or staying in Galveston motels.

No motels in the San Luis Pass area but they have some condos there. Pointe West is one of the developments but I am not sure if they are the ones with the condos.

Stay near Surfside or High Island way.

High Island is about 50 miles north of Surfside.
