Why does it matter to you? Have you ever seen the trailer trash that drive up and down the beach? I have....its not pretty.

Still better than letting developers close of parts of the beach where they build their condos. Trust me, if you try walking down it, and you don't have a condo there, you'll be asked to leave.

Because I grew up on thoses beaches and worked on those beaches. I dont know how many times tourists praised out county for NOT closing the beaches and allowing them to drive and park wherever they want. GIVING beachfront property to developers at ZERO cost is the most absurd idea I've heard in a long time; and it's not about jobs, its about greed.

If you dont like the "trailer trash" you see on the beach, there are 60+ miles of beach you can DRIVE to and on to find the spot you like the most. That's the beauty of open beaches...you can go wherever you want.

Maybe since you are in construction, you only see the beach as a place to develop and not the beautiful natural environment that it is.

Big condo owners could give a rat's ass about the locals, all they want is free land.

Racerfink is 100% accurate about the property owners running you off of "their" beach if you arent paying for a room.

I will not play a part in the construction...however I am an avid fisherman so I would be concerned if they were closing the entire beach. But, like you said, there are 60+ miles of beach, so I can go elsewhere. One little stretch of beach is not going to elminate my options for driving elsewhere, but it will keep a big time developer from improving on an area, that as you can probably agree, does need improving. Just my 2 cents.

Oh, and either way, it does not really matter to me. Just adding to the discussion.

How do you "improve" a beach by putting a building on it?

As soon as three or four condo groups get a closed beach, other developers will want it for "their" beachfront condo's as well. Bad idea that needs to be stopped NOW!

Actually I dont agree. I appreciate your opinion and also like fishing, but I was opposed to the jetty they just finished building (which is way too short), and wouldn't be upset if they never build another condo on the island. If I want the crowded fisherman's wharf feelin, I'll drive the extra 15 miles to Port A.

One of the main reasons that Corpus beaches are rated as highly as they are is because you can drive on them...
