If you haven't been out to the Oscar Store west of Temple, go. Good food for not much money, great atmosphere, live music from outdoor stage.

Softdrinks and Tea are $.99. You can get a steak, potato and salad for less than $10. The CFS and CFC are great. Onion rings too. They are about to start cooking steaks outside over coals from what I heard.

Go when the weather's nice and eat outside. Great place for a big family meal or a date.

(This is a really old small country grocery that's been redone into a restaurant)

Sounds like fun! Could you give more details, like directions from Waco and times they are open?

There's a map under the "contact us" section...

It's only 4 or 5 minutes outside of Temple.

Took the wife today for lunch and it was as good as advertised. Shared an appetizer of fried pickles and she got a steak and I got a cheese burger. I had a few bites of her steak and it tasted almost exactly like how my grandfather cooked steaks outside on the grill, which was a good thing. We will be going back for sure. Probably when they have some live music.

We live down the road and go pretty often. They have a pretty neat place setup, and good food. They get pretty busy on weekend evening, I am guessing when the weather is warmer they will be very busy.

When I went last Friday, we got there about 5p.m. By the time we left, the parking lot was packed and so was the road it's on.

Music starts at 7 on weekend nights from what I hear.

The staff is um...pretty good too. I'm sure you'll see several aggie gals working there this summer.

Oscar Store is something the Temple/Belton area has needed for a looooong time. It's a really cool place.
