One of my Aggie buddies stationed at Ft. Hood is getting run around by his landlord. He leased a home from a guy named Dough Folkerson, whom turns out has been taking advantage of soldiers for years. I've come across several online reviews from former tenants of Folkerson Property Management, all of which have stated the same thing (Mr. Folkerson doesn't show up for walk-throughs when tenants move out, then attempts to charge them for an extra month's rent for not being out on time. The guy tacks on an inventory of charges when tenants move out for normal upkeep and repair issues generally covered under the terms of a lease). His unit is deploying back to Iraq in a few weeks and he and his wife are pregnant with their first child. He's not a TexAgs poster, though I have encouraged him to reach out to the Aggie network for legal advise. Does anyone know of any good property and / or renter's rights attorneys in the Killeen area?
