That first game loss this time was strange. We got down a ton early, he put Greg in, and Gregory was incredibly effective, but we were just too far down to catch up. It was the only game in the playoffs where Ryan just did not have his stuff.
So Greg pitched pretty much a full game on Friday, effectively, and we still lost.
On Saturday the third game, a pitcher who had been struggling in the play offs pitched very well, but with the bats as hot as they were, he could have been off and we would have won.
Coach pretty much stopped aggressive base running once we were in run rule territory, and used almost everyone on the team as a pinch hitter to try to let them all play.
The strange thing was that Danbury has this ONE incredible pitcher, but they never really used him.
I don't know if he is a little hurt, of the coach just took a gamble and lost.
He closed the first game, when we were catching up. That left him with probably a little less than a full game on Saturday, but the coach did not start him in game two. In fact he did not play him at pitcher at all in game two.
By the time he started game three, he had played a full game of baseball in the hot sun, and he just did not have anything left.
Really strange coaching decisions.
