Question is: are they going to stay in the same location? They do have a good wine selection there but it is sort of small by Spec's standards. Will be interesting to see what happens.
Bohunk. Excellant wine selections. As well as prices too. Always running specials and quantity discounts. Agreed on the cigar selection as well. Very clean and refressing. They also have demos and tastings every week.
Good. May have to try it out. Dicorte on Lake Air and to some degree HEB on Bosque were the only two places in Waco with a decent selection. Dicorte was high though.
I can only imagine the thoughts of the fine baptist folk up there in McLennan County. First Hooters, now an high-class liquor purveyor like Specs has come to town. What will the local yokel think? The DiCorte's were long ready to cash out and get their money. The last of the Waco establishment is beginning to fade and distribute their wealth. It is a good day and a bad day, in that manner.
f2...I too am surprised that Specs hasn't met resistance. I suppose if they start off in the current Dicorte location they can only progress so far but become established at the same time. In time they will simply move to a building that allows expansion and it will be more accepted.
Fanfare and a huge building in the beginning would not be a good way to start off around here.
While I don't drink, everyone who thinks their child is away from the evils of alcohol while at Baylor must be smoking weed or drunk on their own butts. Where a liquor store is located is the least of a student's concerns when they decide to have a drink!
