Badass guitarist. He used to play sedcik all the time - Great shows. I think he's played Christmas night in Temple many times. Used to play at peppermint lounge on airport road.

Sefcik Hall is one of the great venues in Central Texas. Been too long since I've been there and seen Alice.

Sefcik Hall should have a historical marker. Had many a good times there.

It is a step back in time. It was "the place" when my brother was in high school at Rogers fifty one years plus ago.

Other than the addition of air conditioning, it really has not changed much in the interval. They just called it "Tom's" back then. Now it goes more by his surname.

Petey,

you go back further than me.

The shows I've seen were at sefcik. Back when it was so damn smoky in there you couldn't breathe. Great shows though.

jest got back to Belton, it was absolutely awesome. For awhile, I sat @ the mixing board w/ Ronnie Griffin & Richard of The Dawgs.

great crowd, a must see jam session w/ The Groove Kings. Only got to talk to Zychek for a few minutes b4 the show, as he was sooper bizzy. He told me they had been there all day werking out electrical probs.

Got to meet the owner, and the family who runs the place. We swapped stories,...i.e. one was Rusty Wier, who was my friend & neighbor @ Lake Travis,I used to hang w/ Rusty on occasion...Paul Brown is near Awstin, we talked Joe Ely, who used to shoot pool @ a neighbors house,... Chris Layton,...drummer for Stevie Ray Vaughan, who I met when I was there,...Malford Milligan of Storyville came up, I haven't seen Malford in a few years, good to hear he is doing great.

I had to tell the son of Sefcik Hall owner, my brush w/ greatness, when I met Ron Wood of The Rolling Stones in 2006 in The Warehouse District in Awstin the night b4 The Stones played Zilker Park in 2006.

At any rate, Zychek was on,....perhaps my best fun was when he played Medusa by Trapeze.

I felt like I was 18 again. David told the story of the time he opened for Trapeze in Kingsville, and played one their songs b4 they came on stage. And he went on, to say when Trapeze toured the USA, they had a house in Tejas.

Ok, I'll stop w/ the stories,....long, long day

3rd > Heck, Tom's was THE place to be when I was in high school from 91-95. Good times!

Love Alice... good friends.

It is a little run down now though... was always a dream of mine to one day buy it and clean it up. It could be one of the greatest "old/historic" venues in Texas.

My parent's live less than a mile from Alice's and I've spent many a great night there. Hated that I was out of town at the in-laws for Christmas and missed Zychek!

God help me, I should own a one of those pool tables on the bottom floor as many quarters as I put in it. Haven't been there in years. I think the last time I was there, we saw Brave Combo. I left a down payment for a new liver over there.
