Thanks so much BohunkAg for your recommendations for eating in West. We will be doing that.

Help request for Waco for this weekend. Will be there Friday afternoon - Sunday morning...

1.Recommend a good Mexican restaurant in Waco.
2.Recommend the best place for hamburgers and home-style onion rings.

Agree with Dubl-R for burgers.

The Ninfa's downtown is actually a nice spot for Mexican. I'm not partial to El Con personally because the menu is limited. Casa de Castillo is good. And I know many on here would beg to differ, but I'm still partial to the original La Fiesta on Franklin.

El Con blows. Casa is a place you go to chill. Ninfas has all the green and gold (I'll pass). Lafiesta's food has gone downhill, but it's a louder environment.

I would trust piag's opinion on here when it comes to Waco Mexican food joints.

Uncle Bubba's is also a good choice for hamburgers. I forget where their current location is though. Seems like they are still at Lake Air and West Waco Drive.

Thank you all for the help. I will get on google maps and locate these places. Looking forward to spending the weekend in Waco and West (really) and hoping to see the Aggies get a W at the Ferrell.

Ninfa's is sadly, the best Waco has to offer. El Con is a shell of what it was in the '80s and Casa de Castillo is as well. La Fiesta is grossly overrated. Chuy's is chain, but Waco desperately needs chain fare to push the local independent establishments to improve their game.

As for Burgers, Kitok's (N. 19th) & Burger Barn on Colcord and 17th near the Old Providence Hospital. The hippies have taken it over, but it's good. Wizzbang's is not what it once was and Double-R is overrated.
