does anyone know which of the 27 holes at mill creek are currently being played.

Kind of a funky layout. Par is 69. Generally speaking the greens that are near the creek were destroyed by the flood. If you are familiar with the 3 nines Mill, Creek, and Springs this should help.

MIll is having some problems right now... the owner came down to have a big pow wow with the employees there. He is trying to figure out what the problem is...

The problem is easy... they are not putting enough money into it. No beer girls anymore, no club house that serves food, no anything... plus everything is falling apart. I hope they do something soon to make it better.

Don't get me wrong, I still like to play there, but they just need to get it together a little more.

i thought i could find the course names on line but i failed. My assumtions are mill is the old 1-9, creek is the old 10-18 and springs is the new 9. thanks for your help.

gray - one more question for you since you appear to have played the course since the damage was done. Are the holes that are being used currently in good shape or have they been neglected?

I have played a few times and are in decent shape. It was always winter time when I played, so hard to tell. The greens are VERY fast. Like putting on concrete.

Man, Mill Creek used to have a KILLER brunch on Sundays.

I mean flown-in fish, carving stations, giant jumbo shrimp. It was the place to be for awhile...good golf too.

There is some bermuda starting to pop up on the greens. That has slowed them down. Overall the fairways are still pretty winter bare.

The golf manager that caused big problems is gone. They have decreased membership dues with no initiation right now.

Let me add that Mill Creek is owned by Morris Foster who is on the board of regents.

I heard that once all the lots were sold, they level of "care" went down. Don't know if that's the problem or not. Just what I heard. Regardless, it ain't what it was.

New member policies were established by a new manager about 3.5 years ago. A lot of members quit because of a price increase, a one time assessment, and this person's treatment of members. Stack on 3 major floods in 3 years and you are correct, it ain't what it used to be. The economy hasn't helped either.

A new manager is in place now and the dues have been decreased. My understanding is that several previous members have rejoined since the management change 3 weeks ago.

The lot/land rumor has little to do with the problems.

I played today and the course is in great shape. All but about 3 or 4 greens were in perfect shape, and the rest of the course was doing just fine as well. There were a couple bad fairways, but otherwise, really in great shape. Sand was perfect, tee boxes were perfect, greens were mostly perfect, fairways were pretty good. Incredible value for only $32.

That is GREAT news about the new manager and the course conditions. Sounds like they are turning things around out there.

How's the old #7 playing? Avoiding the root ball of a 100 year old oak tree the size of an Abrams tank right in the middle of the fairway has got to be a beeyotch.

I grew up out there. Tough to see the place go to crap.
