Before the wife and I got married we rescued a lab mix (now looks more like a German Shepard, chow, lab, who knows) puppy. That was 9 years ago. He has always had issues with small children as he was chased and beaten by a couple of young boys when he was just a pup. We have known when the time comes to have kids we may have to give him up. In the past year or so he has become more unpredictable. He is a fear biter. He has never actually bitten anyone but has snapped a couple of times. He has always been an inside dog and now that we have our first child CJ (the dog) needs to find a new home.
He is a well trained obedient dog. He walks fairly well on a leash (just needs a reminder once in a while not to pull). He doesn't get on furniture 98% of the time. He has always been an inside dog. We have lived in everything from a 500 sq ft apt to a 3 bedroom house on 3 acres. He has a kennel but doesn't spend much time in it.
Most of all we want to make sure he goes to a great home. He doesn't need to be around small children. But he does need to be in a house that will take him out and let him spend some time outdoors. He loves the water but not a huge swimmer. He is very loyal and affectionate and loves attention. He is a good dog and we really hate to see him go.
