Never had options before for electricity. Any tips before I shop?

Also, what is the prevailing sort of media used? I see Embarq, and I'm no fan of TWC. I would prefer not to put a dish up on my house, but I'll do it if there is no good option.

We are in Hewitt and had TWC with RR Internet for at least 10 years and absolutely ZERO complaints...the couple of times something weird happened to the computer they were out the next day and both times it was bad Ethernet cards, which they replaced.

My husband decided to save $10 a month and went to Grande which has continual issues but he knows not to complain because I told him Grande was a bad choice...3 or 4 friends in and around Waco and all have Grande problems.

Before TWC we had Dish Network and issues with the channels being jumbled and wavy.

I plan on never doing any business w/ TWC again. When living in waYco, cable service was almost non existent, altho the phone worked,...just good enough to call TWC and get left on hold for 45 to 90 minutes. They would send somebody out, hang new lines, change out cable boxes, apologize, do whatever, but the end result was constant credits because the cable service was horrible.

Moved to Belton, gave TWC here a chance to come install, they said 3 weeks. Told em to sharpen their pencil, called AT&T, got a package deal w/ only a very few hiccups in almost two years.

TWC had an attitude, and that was they didn't care about service. At least w/ DirecTV I can talk to a live person in minutes (altho I haven't had a real need to).

Electric service, I've had 3 different in 6 years. You sign on, they start to raise rates, sure nuff, a competitor will knock on the door w/ a cheaper rate. Currently paying 9 cents a KW hour w/ Reliant Energy vs. the 14 cents of Direct Energy in waYco. I had TXU in Belton until Reliant offered a better deal, shop around

Is At&T U-Verse in Bell County? If it is, I'm moving back as well and would be all over that

Interesting, Mom.

I've experienced just the opposite. I've lived in Waco and Hewitt and over the past decade, have had Grande at three locations with no problems whatsoever.

My dad has Time Warner in Hewitt and has frequently had service problems. But for some reason, he sticks with them.

My mother-in-law also has Time Warner. Her service has been much better, but she still has experienced a couple of minor outages.

I don't recall ever having a problem with Grande.

I have friends with both Grande and Time Warner, and I haven't heard many complaints from any of them about either service (except for Time Warner's lack of the NFL Network when the Cowboys were on it).

If y'all are happy with Time Warner though, that's definitely the route for you to go.

I just spent hours looking around and comparing electricity rates since my contract is up this month.

First off, start with Powertochoose.org

The best rates I could find were with Bounce energy. If you sign up for a new plan with them using this code you will get a $50 credit bonus. http://www.bounceenergy.com/refer-a-friend/raf/1233245

Hope this helps someone.
